Matt Selen - Managing Director
Born and raised in Christchurch, Matt spent a number of years living in the UK installing rubber safety flooring under playground equipment in Schools and playgrounds. On returning to New Zealand with his wife and 3 daughters, he started his own flooring company specializing in commercial installation. His team prides itself in providing a top quality service from start to finish. The goal is “Right First Time” and the drive for complete customer satisfaction. Away from the office and work sites Matt enjoys a round of golf and playing Masters Football for FC Twenty.
Jacob Clough - Foreman
From Kaiapoi, Jacob joined Mainland Flooring in 2014 and has hasn’t looked back since. The move to the company have seen Jacob go from strength to strength working his way up to Foreman. A tireless worker he prides himself on providing a first class installation for the client with a high attention to detail. Jacob’s floor prep and leveling skills are some of the best in the industry. Outside of work Jacob is a dedicated family man with two lovely young daughters. An avid Rugby League supporter and Maroons fan.
Joshua Hutchinson - Installer
Josh has been in the construction industry for over 10 years accumulating a wealth of knowledge across a number of different fields including concrete crack injection and floor prep. Josh joined the company in 2017 and has growth significantly both skill wise and as a person. A key member of our team, Josh has a natural flair for vinyl installation with an eye for detail and quality workmanship as well as his excellent floor prep and grinding skills. Josh is a settled family man with two lovely children.
Roberto Bray-Descalzo - Installer
Roberto joined the company in early 2018 as well as juggling his academic studies at University. An intelligent and creative young man, Roberto has quickly become a valuable member of the Mainland Flooring team. With an eye for detail and skillful at reading drawings and set out plans, Roberto is developing into a hugely promising flooring installer as well as an exceptional artist and painter outside of the work environment.
